GFAI has two types of organizational groups:
GFAI Committees:
GFAI Industry Action Groups:
- Committees - Meet 1-3 times a year and are event and program based.
- Industry Action Groups - Focus on various issues or topics and will interact more by e-mail or conference call. Should an issue arise to the level to create a task force, we can draw from the Industry Action Group connected with that topic.
GFAI Committees:
- Annual Convention and Trade Show - meets twice a year and focus on all things connected with the Annual Convention and Trade Show including recommendations for location, speakers, format and educational sessions.
- Scholarship - meets twice a year and will continue to build off the success of the scholarship program, providing fundraising ideas, scholarship review and selection, and ideas to support youth awareness of careers in the industry.
- Workforce Development - meets once or twice a year and will determine the appropriate programming and speakers to train and enhance those currently working in the industry.
GFAI Industry Action Groups:
- Environmental - Monitor and discuss current environmental regulations impacting the industry and ways those regulations could be improved
- Facility Operations - Focus on security, energy, maintenance, and property management
- Feed - Regulatory issues related to the manufacturing and distribution of commercial feed
- Grain Grades and Quality - Watch over issues connected to grain grades and quality
- Illinois Grain Code - Focus on the Illinois Grain Code and Illinois Grain Insurance Fund statutes and the regulations related to implementation of those laws
- Legislative - Review and discuss state and federal legislation
- Safety and OSHA - Monitor and discuss safety issues and changes to OSHA standards
- Transportation - Analyze transportation issues of all types
