Website Tool Predicts Risk of Wheat Fungus

Click the link below to access the Fusarium Head Blight Prediction Center. This tool provides daily estimates of disease risk for Fusarium Head Blight (Head scab) in 24 states, including Illinois. Wheat is most susceptible to infection by the fungus that causes head blight during anthesis (when anthers first emerge) and early stages of grain development.

The disease prediction models currently suggest a moderate to high risk of disease in the St. Louis area as well as a medium risk throughout much of Southern Illinois.
