Grain and Feed Association of Illinois Scholarship for
Junior College and University Agri-business Students

Since 1963, the Grain and Feed Association of Illinois has provided scholarships to assist motivated students interested in entering the grain and feed industry.

Currently we have two Scholarship Programs: One is a monetary scholarship given directly to the student, and the second is a work/study program.

Junior College Monetary Scholarship Program
It is preferred that candidates plan on going into the agri-business side of the grain and feed industry, not into production agriculture. Eligible students must also:
1.      Be at least a sophomore in academic standing
2.      Reside in Illinois
3.      Be enrolled in an Illinois junior college
4.      Include a copy of their college transcript with the application

University Monetary Scholarship Program
It is preferred that candidates plan on going into the agri-business side of the grain and feed industry, not into production agriculture. Eligible students must also:
1.      Be at least a junior in academic standing
2.      Reside in Illinois
3.      Be enrolled in a University located within Illinois
4.      Include a copy of their college transcript with the application

Work/Study Scholarship Program
College major and grades are not the only items employers consider when hiring. Work experience plays an important roll in the hiring process and this program is designed to develop an understanding of the grain and feed industry and its importance in today’s agriculture. It is preferred that candidates plan on going into the agri-business side of the grain and feed industry, not into production agriculture. Eligible students must also:
1.      Be at least a sophomore in academic standing
2.      Reside in Illinois
3.      Participate in leadership training held in May, through the Grain and Feed Association of Illinois
4.      Work 8 hours per month at a grain elevator during the spring and fall semesters for a $1,000 stipend
